Download embedded videos from any site using GRAB (Orbit Downloader Extension)
One of the best download manager, Orbit downloader also has a embedded video downloader that not many people know about, the things I like most about it is that it is light weight , you don’t need to install separate software as it comes integrated with orbit downloader which is a very good download manager in itself, it works with every site that has embedded content not just Youtube and it is not only limited to video you can download music or any embedded content like swf too.
When you install orbit download the installer doesn’t creates any shortcut for grab by default so you have to manually do that, so to do that just go to to the directory where you installed orbit downloader (usually C:\\Program Files\OrbitDownloader) and right click the file Grab.exe and in the “send to” menu click on “shortcut to desktop” that’s it, this will place the shortcut to GRAB on your desktop
Now if you want to download any video just double click the shortcut you just created and open the the site that contains the video, when the video starts loading grab will automatically detect the video file (.flv), to download that video tick the checkbox near that video then click the download button and this will start the download in orbit downloader.
if it doesn’t detects any video make sure your browser is checked in grab’s preferences
Edit: by the way Grab can also be opened from inside orbit. Tools >> GRAB++ (Thanks to musafir

Two Extensions that you won’t need with Firefox 3
Mozilla has a history of integrating extra features in every new release of their browsers that would require separate extensions to run, they did it with FireFox 2 and they now did same with FireFox 3 by adding few features that some popular add-on used to provide to the users, here are those two extensions and the features these extensions provide:
Autocomplete Manager- when you type something in the address bar this extension shows related entries from your bookmarks but now FireFox developers have added this feature by default in FireFox 3
Download Statusbar- this extension automatically hides the download window to the status bar of FireFox and shows the download status in the status bar
Extract multiple archives at once using Winrar with just few clicks
If you download applications from torrents you must have seen applications packed in multiple archives with file names like filename01, filename02 and so on ,it is very hard to extract those archives one by one in one folder which I personally used to do, but few days ago I downloaded an application from torrent with a size of 187 Mb and had 38 multiple archives, so I thought that there must be some way to extract all archive at once in one folder and fortunately I found it, I just selected all the archives in explorer and right clicked them and in the right click explorer menu that appeared there were few Winrar extracting operations that I could do:
1. “extract files (this opens a Winrar windows where you can select the directory for extracting files and few other options)
2. “extract here” (this will immediately start extracting the files contained in those split archives to a sub folder named same as your archive name)
3. “extract each archive to different folder” (this will extract all the split archive to different folders with folder name same as the split archive name, this is not what you want to do )
4. “extract to “archive name” (this will extract all the split archive to one folder with the name same as the archive name)
You can use any of the above four feature to your liking, I personally used the first feature to extract the files to the folder I wanted

Rapidshare Increases Download Limit For Premium Users

Rapidshare yesterday changed their website design and along with that they also increased the download limit for premium users which earlier was 25 GB per five day and has been now updated to 50 GB per five days which comes as good news for many premium account holders after their account were limited to counter website which used to offer free users to download like premium users giving them direct links to the download created using premium accounts.
In my opinion if they want to limit the accounts then rthey should introduce data based packages instead of the current time based packages which will be much more convenient for the customers as in the current scenario even if one doesn’t downloads from rapidshare his account gets expired in the given time, and when the amount of download is already limited it wont be a problem for the customers, as theoretically in a month account one can only download 50*6=300 GB of data per month so they should offer 300 GB of downloads for the same price as the 1 month account and let users download to their own convenience.
what do you guys think about this? leave a comment to let me know!
