Download embedded videos from any site using GRAB (Orbit Downloader Extension)
One of the best download manager, Orbit downloader also has a embedded video downloader that not many people know about, the things I like most about it is that it is light weight , you don’t need to install separate software as it comes integrated with orbit downloader which is a very good download manager in itself, it works with every site that has embedded content not just Youtube and it is not only limited to video you can download music or any embedded content like swf too.
When you install orbit download the installer doesn’t creates any shortcut for grab by default so you have to manually do that, so to do that just go to to the directory where you installed orbit downloader (usually C:\\Program Files\OrbitDownloader) and right click the file Grab.exe and in the “send to” menu click on “shortcut to desktop” that’s it, this will place the shortcut to GRAB on your desktop
Now if you want to download any video just double click the shortcut you just created and open the the site that contains the video, when the video starts loading grab will automatically detect the video file (.flv), to download that video tick the checkbox near that video then click the download button and this will start the download in orbit downloader.
if it doesn’t detects any video make sure your browser is checked in grab’s preferences
Edit: by the way Grab can also be opened from inside orbit. Tools >> GRAB++ (Thanks to musafir ;))

tho I do wanna point out that GRAB is not just a video downloader but you may download variety of contents with that. grab detect all (if not all then most) links, and you can download em with orbit.
I have downloaded flvs rms swf and variety of files with GRAB++

And good to see the mobile version. I never saw that on a blog before. I will implement that with my blog as well once I update it after my exams are over.
Btw I would suggest that you lay off the ads at this early stage of your blog. You will hardly make any money and will possibly lose some new readers. Just put the adsense back on when your blog gets going!
And as is the case, most of your earnings from ads will be from search engine traffic which you wont be getting much of at this early stage…..

This Orbit software is great for most sites, however I have found a setback.
I have been trying to download embedded videos from the BBC website. The downloader keeps connecting and then being cut off. Presumably the connection is being severed by the sites superior protection system.
Is there any way around these kind of problems?
Can anyone suggest a more clever bit of software that can bypass this issue?
Any help greatly appreciated

tell me if this works, and make sure its an embedded media (like flv, mp3) and not a streaming media link (rtsp)
